1666: Amsterdam Classes & Playstyles
Two characters, two perspectives, and one city hiding more than it wants to reveal.
The two perspectives
1666: Amsterdam is built around two characters who see the same city from radically different angles. Noa Brooklyn is the Collector: a witch who investigates the Originals, gathers Lux and Nux, and chooses how each hunt unfolds. Aaron arrives from 1999 and experiences the world through the eyes of a cat familiar.
The result is a story-led action-adventure with two complementary rhythms: deliberate investigation in the streets and spell-driven confrontations when the Esbat begins.
| Perspective | Role | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Noa Brooklyn | Collector · Witchcraft | Investigates Life Echoes, gathers Lux and Nux, and confronts the Originals during the Esbat. |
| Aaron | Familiar · Traversal | A professor from 1999 whose consciousness arrives in Amsterdam through the body of a black cat. |

A good first-hour rhythm
- Follow the first investigation route and learn how Life Echoes reveal context.
- Spend time with the Lux interaction loop before chasing optional secrets.
- Switch to Aaron whenever a route narrows, a door is out of reach, or a citizen becomes the key to progress.
- Treat the Prologue as a short tutorial for the day/night structure and the game's supernatural vocabulary.
